Senescence-Targeted Therapeutics
Two patent-pending technologies address distinct questions in identifying and qualifying selective immune-cell populations for senescence-targeted therapeutic development.
Technology 1
Identifying Selective Immune Cells
Issue: Which cytotoxic immune cells can eliminate senescent cells while limiting damage to corresponding non-senescent cells?
The first technology is designed to identify useful immune-cell populations based on their measured ability to distinguish between senescent cells and corresponding non-senescent cells through functional killing tests.
Activity against senescent targets is assessed alongside activity against non-senescent controls. The approach therefore evaluates the cells’ observed functional selectivity, rather than relying solely on predetermined senescence markers.
These measurements provide an experimental basis for identifying candidate immune-cell populations that preferentially eliminate senescent cells while limiting damage to corresponding non-senescent cells.
Technology 2
Selecting Immune Cells for a Particular Recipient
Issue: Which candidate immune-cell population demonstrates the required selectivity for this particular recipient?
The second technology is designed to evaluate candidate immune-cell populations against matched senescent and non-senescent target cells derived from the intended recipient.
Comparing the candidate’s activity against these matched targets provides a recipient-specific basis for assessing selectivity. The results support qualifying or selecting a candidate population for that individual.
The first technology asks which immune cells demonstrate selective killing of senescent cells. The second asks which candidate demonstrates the required selectivity for a particular recipient.

The proposed applications include age-related diseases and other conditions associated with cellular senescence. Both technologies require further research and validation.
